Robert Mickey
With over 30 years of martial arts experience, Robert is one of the rare individuals who can genuinely be called a master instructor. Starting with traditional styles, where he earned a black belt in karate and a brown belt in judo, Robert expanded his training to include international kickboxing, Muay Thai, boxing, various styles of ju jitsu, as well as hand-to-hand combat, self-defense, and mixed martial arts. He trained at the prestigious Jet Center in Los Angeles under the legendary Benny "the Jet" Urquidez, and is co-author of "Civilized Warring" with six-time world kickboxing champion Peter "Sugarfoot" Cunningham. Robert's teaching philosophy is simple: LEAD BY EXAMPLE! Both encouraging and demanding, he believes in balancing tough, disciplined classes with lots of humor and energy.
